While smaller prints require 300 DPI (dots per inch) for optimal results, large format printing works a bit differently. Due to the larger size and typical viewing distance, you can generally use a resolution of 100 DPI. Higher resolutions are possible for images with lots of detail or intended for close-up viewing.
